Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study, considering and aiming to achieve the three (3) fundamental functions of the University, which are teaching, research and service.
• Organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and establish community networks.
• Seek out active methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course objectives.
• Supervise master’s thesis research projects and help students in preparation and successfully defend their theses.
• Support and participate in accreditation initiatives.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: • PhD and master’s degree relevant to sociology from a reputable university that is recognized by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
• Hold the rank of associate professor in sociology.
• Has excellent experience in teaching and research at the university graduate level.
• Has experience in supervising master’s theses.
• Possess strong publication records and has a good number of papers published in reputable and SCOPUS-indexed international journals.
• Has the ability to teach in both Arabic and English languages.
Knowledge and Skills: • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Develop and deliver presentations and has good experience in the use application of modern teaching methods.
• Work effectively with a multiple diverse community.
• Create, compose, and edit written materials.
• Plan and implement graduate and undergraduate academic programs.
• Has sufficient knowledge and skills in the use of computerized student information systems.
